Oban Joinery Services Ltd were awarded the joinery package of the new joint police and sas headquarters in 2013. The contract incuded for the on-site manufacture of the timber frame structure to the clients strict architects/engineers design whilst ensuring that the project achieved high air tightness levels. A challenge in itself! The building was designed and constructed with high levels of security in mind and thus incorporated a large number of swipe card reader access doors.

OJS worked closely with the electrical contractors OES to ensure that there was a minimum of fuss in the installation of the card readers. As expected the building has areas where private interviews take place therefore an emphasis was placed on ensuring any possible noise transfer was eliminated by using Sound bloc sheets and rockwool insulation due to the density required. OJS were delighted to work alongside Mansell (main contractor) on this project to help deliver the building completed on time.
